Google’s “Gmail Motion” Kinects on April Fools Day

April fools is here, and Googles latest parody has an real Kinect-ion to it. A link to Gmail motion on both the Google search home page at the top right side of one’s Gmail account, we’ll send you to a page that claims to detail a new way to communicate with your Gmail account. The claim is made that Gmail motion uses your computer’s built-in WebCam. In an obvious sendup of the Microsoft CES presentation of the new Kinect controller for Xbox 360, the reader is giving instructions on how to use different whole body gestures to perform commands on the Gmail account. There’s even a printable guide showing you the gestures in silhouette. Personal favorites are mute conversation and reply all. My other favorite is the photo of Ken Harrenstien, who looks like he’s already chuckling heartily at the joke.

So far Microsoft has made no comment on the possible association.
